How to clean and maintain leather ?

Leather is a skin, with fibers and pores, that requires proper natural lubrication and needs to breathe. Because it no longer has a body to provide proper natural oils, we must provide these oils for it. The key to extending the useful life of your leather is restoring it with proper oils.

Day after day, neglected leather dries out and loses its suppleness, fibers become frangible and eventually crack. Inversely, maintaining leather with oils on a regular basis will hydrate and preserve its suppleness and beauty for generations...

All modern kinds of leather - aniline leather, pigmented leather - are protected with a microporous varnish. Most leather care products do not go through this barrier and do not penetrate into the leather; nutrient cream remains on surface, and disappears when polishing: it shines, but oils can not penetrate.

A few elaborated products can cure this situation, beacuse they contain a formula that enables natural oils to get through the protection varnish
